The Best Weekened Ever at the Club...

Quite possibly the best weekend ever at the club. And I don't say that lightly. The 1st XI AND 2nd XI recorded outright wins - The 3rd XI and 4th XI both won their one day game, meaning the club is yet to taste defeat in any competition so far this season! Extraordinary! I would love for any of our older subscribers to let me know if they remember the 1st and 2nd XI both winning outright in the same round (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) But this may have been overshadowed by the Vice President Tom Kimpton taking a mind blowing 8/3 (that is 8 wickets for 3 runs) off 9 overs - routing Footscray A.N.A. for 14.

Breaking it down a little - there was 30 dot balls IN. A. ROW. (inc 4 wickets) before Kimpo bowled one off the cut stuff (2 wides) he then bowled another 20 dot balls before conceding a run off the bat before bowling another 3 dot balls to close off the innings - unbelievable! - Earlier in the day Kimpton and Rory Callen put on 18 runs for the last wicket to ensure first innings points. The story in the Herald Sun can be found here.

In other results Ant Brennan scored a ton in the 3rds in their convincing win and the 4th XI kept their winning ways going Matt Coxon.

A big few weeks is ahead of RPBCC. With a full book of games on Saturday as usual followed by the 1st and 2nd XI catch up games Sunday and finished off Tuesday with our Match Day two of the VTCA T20 comp away to Seddon it is a busy few days of Cricket Sunday also marks our Past Players' and sponsors day - All Past Players' and sponsors are welcome to get along to watch the 2's (and see what this Kimpo fuss is all about) enjoy a few cheap drinks and of course a RPBCC BBQ lunch.

The reverse raffle is also fast approaching - (Details below) - always a great night - get in quick for tickets as last year sold out!!

Congrats also to Rick Atkinson of Wainscott Financial who's horse Harlow Gold ran second in the Oaks on Thursday - we hope to see you and some of that prizemoney down the club soon Rick...
